Position Summary

Responsible for the development and administration of the Terrestrial Wildlife program addressing wildlife resources management and conservation for the Southern Ute Indian Tribe on the Reservation.

This position is a grade E15; the salary starts at $74,804/year.

Education And Experience

Must have a MA/MS in Wildlife Science or a BA/BS degree in Wildlife and/or Fisheries Science and 2 years of experience in wildlife science .

Must have 3 years of experience in the field of wildlife research or management.

Must have 1 year of project management experience.

Must have 1 year of experience in employee supervision and personnel management.

Must have general knowledge of budget development and administration.

Must have computer experience in software programs including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access.

Must have valid Driver’s license for state of residency and be insurable under the Tribal vehicle insurance policy.

Must pass a thorough criminal history background check.

Must pass a pre-employment drug test.

Preferred Qualifications

Practical experience in conducting aerial surveys using helicopter and fixed-winged aircraft.

General knowledge of Arc Map and GIS.

Knowledge of the Southern Ute Indian Reservation boundaries and roads.
