Job Description
Summary:
Work with your hands as part of a production team producing high quality in vitro plants for high quantity production of tissue culture plants. Use surgical tools in a laminar floor hood to cut small plants to specification and place into new containers.
Shift:
Monday-Thursday, 6:00 am - 4:30 pm. Fridays as needed during the busy season.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Use surgical tools (primarily scalpel and forceps) to cut and stick plant tissue into media using proper aseptic technique
- Follow strict specifications for processing over 100 genus types
- Fill orders of various quantity in a timely manner
- Maintain a clean workstation
- Complete individual tasks to help maintain workflow and cleanliness of the lab facility
- Participate in daily stretches and team meetings
- Communicate effectively with coworkers
- Report to Team Lead with plant quality or process issues
- Other duties may be assigned as needed by the Team Lead and Director

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety standards, SOP’s, processing specifications, and procedure manuals.
