Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Legal Administrative Assistant role based in Eagle, ID. The Legal Administrative Assistant will support attorneys with daily administrative and legal tasks, including organizing case files, managing calendars, scheduling meetings, and coordinating court dates and deadlines. Responsibilities include preparing, formatting, and proofreading legal documents, correspondence, and filings, as well as maintaining accurate records and client files. The role involves answering and directing phone calls, greeting clients, managing incoming and outgoing mail, and ensuring timely follow-up on client inquiries. The Legal Administrative Assistant will also assist with billing support, basic research tasks as directed, and general office duties to help keep the practice running efficiently.
Qualifications
- Foundational understanding of law and legal processes, with the ability to work with attorneys on business law and litigation matters.
- Proficiency in legal document preparation, including drafting, formatting, and proofreading pleadings, correspondence, and other legal materials.
- Strong communication skills, including clear verbal communication, professional phone etiquette, and concise written communication with clients and team members.
- Administrative assistance skills, such as calendar management, scheduling, file organization (physical and digital), and accurate data entry.
- Excellent organization skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfort with standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office or similar tools) and willingness to learn legal practice management systems.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, demonstrate sound judgment, and interact respectfully with a diverse client base.
- 3\+ years previous experience in a law firm or legal setting and/or formal legal administrative training or certification is preferred.
