The technology bridges patented advances in medical devices, software, and additive manufacturing to yield a new class of functional orthopedic bracing that is disrupting the industry. The startup also recently announced the successful close of a strong Series A financing round from prominent industry investors to accelerate commercial expansion.

Position Overview

We are hiring an Area Sales Director who’ll own the Central US. This is a compelling opportunity to lead and scale commercial success for a disruptive MedTech company at a pivotal growth inflection point. The Sales Director will have influence on company strategy, culture, and long term success—while helping bring meaningful, life changing technology to patients.

The Sales Director will be responsible for direct management and coaching of regional and territory sales managers throughout the Central US. This is a field-based role and will require significant travel to support your team in achieving revenue targets. Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, this Director will have ownership for strategic business planning, coaching on new products and sales tactics, supporting key account closing with reps, performing ride-alongs, and managing performance through KPIs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage, educate, and coach reps under management
  • Drive the sales team to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue or unit targets, both individual and team-based
  • Drive Icarus sales initiatives and SPIFFs to increase growth in strategic areas of focus
  • Achieve your region’s sales growth targets by engaging, closing, and maintaining key business in Orthopedic, Sports Medicine, VAMC, DOD, and O\&P accounts
  • Hold regular team sales calls for team education and performance management
  • Cultivate an empowering high motivational global culture in line with the company's mission and values
  • Review and manage to KPIs through Salesforce CRM

Experience Needed for Success

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Demonstrated relevant medical device sales leadership experience
  • Ability to adapt quickly and think on your feet
  • Prior startup or high-growth company experience (preferred)
  • Startup mentality: entrepreneurial, self-motivated, and independent
