is expanding its data center business and is looking for a

Key Account Manager

to own and grow strategic relationships across the mission‑critical ecosystem. This is

not

a high‑volume BDM role. It’s a

relationship‑driven, deal‑owning position

for someone who thrives on complex pursuits, executive‑level customers, and closing meaningful infrastructure projects.

Position Summary

The

Key Account Manager (KAM) – Data Centers

is a senior, strategic sales role responsible for driving revenue growth and developing key relationships within the mission‑critical market. This role requires deep knowledge of the electric power industry, strong commercial instincts, and the ability to manage complex, high‑value customer relationships. The KAM reports to the Strategic Sourcing Director.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic growth in mission critical

  • Build and execute an account strategy that drives revenue and expansion within the

Data Center / Mission Critical

sector.

  • Translate market signals, customer needs, and competitive activity into actionable pursuit plans and pipeline.

Executive relationships \+ deal leadership

  • Comfortable aligning technical solutions with commercial outcomes across

LV/MV gear and transformer‑centric power scopes

(or adjacent mission‑critical power infrastructure).

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for major accounts — earning trust with operators, developers, EPCs, and partner stakeholders by being decisive, responsive, and commercially sharp.
  • Lead complex pursuits end‑to‑end: opportunity qualification, stakeholder mapping, proposal strategy, negotiation, and close.

High‑performance execution

  • Drive forecasting rigor and pipeline hygiene in

Salesforce (SFDC)

; use metrics to improve win rate and execution.

  • Partner tightly with Customer Support and leadership to deliver a seamless customer experience and continuous improvement.

Market presence

  • Represent SwitchgearUS at trade shows, conferences, and industry events to build relationships and create qualified leads.
  • Provide input to Marketing for campaigns, events, and positioning that resonates with mission‑critical buyers
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue and growth objectives within the data center / mission‑critical sector
  • Own and grow relationships with key accounts, serving as the primary customer point of contact
  • Identify new opportunities through market analysis, customer needs assessment, and competitive intelligence
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to align sales initiatives with company objectives
  • Partner closely with Customer Support to deliver a seamless, high‑quality customer experience
  • Create and execute customer engagement plans that drive satisfaction, loyalty, and repeat business
  • Track pipeline, forecasts, and performance metrics using Salesforce (SFDC) and related tools
  • Stay current on industry trends, technology developments, and regulatory changes impacting electric power and data centers

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field
  • Working knowledge of electrical power systems
  • 4\+ years of demonstrated success in sales leadership within the data center or mission‑critical sector
  • Strong relationship‑building, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Strategic, analytical mindset with a results‑driven approach
  • Proficiency with CRM systems (Salesforce preferred), sales analytics tools, and Microsoft Office

$112,575–$136,090 base salary (commensurate with experience) plus bonus
