Job Description
About the Role We are seeking a high-performance XR or Game Software Engineer in Las Vegas to build real-time, low-latency teleoperation interfaces for Unitree robotics using the Pico 4 headset. You do not need a formal robotics background; if you have strong C# fundamentals, deep Unity/VR experience, and know how to squeeze every millisecond of latency out of a real-time system, we will teach you the robotics pipeline.
Key Responsibilities
- XR Application Development: Build responsive, high-performance mobile VR/MR interfaces in Unity for the Pico 4 using C# and OpenXR/Pico SDK.
- Network \& Latency Optimization: Implement and fine-tune low-latency video and data streaming pipelines (WebRTC, UDP, WebSockets) to minimize operator-to-robot control lag.
- Motion \& Kinematic Mapping: Apply 3D vector math, quaternions, and Inverse Kinematics (IK) to convert headset and controller tracking into precise motion data.
- Performance Tuning: Profile CPU/GPU usage to maintain a rock-solid 90 Hz frame rate on mobile hardware while eliminating runtime Garbage Collection frame stutters.
- Robotics Integration: Connect Unity frontends to ROS/ROS2 backends to transmit motion data and display live camera feeds and telemetry overlays.
Required Qualifications
- 3\+ years of Unity (C#) experience with a strong background in gameplay engineering, physics systems, or multiplayer netcode.
- Hands-on experience developing and optimizing for standalone Android VR hardware (Pico or Meta Quest).
- Solid grasp of real-time networking protocols (UDP, WebSockets, WebRTC) and techniques for handling jitter, packet loss, and synchronization.
- Strong foundation in 3D math (vectors, matrices, quaternions, spatial transforms).
- Deep experience with profiling tools (Unity Profiler, Frame Debugger) and zero-allocation memory management strategies.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- C\+\+ or native Android plugin development experience.
- Prior interest or experience with ROS/ROS2, robotics hardware, or autonomous systems.
- Experience with custom video decoding or WebRTC pipelines in Unity.
Pay: $90,000\.00 per year
