Job Description
We are looking for an experienced
Senior Accountan
t to join our client's team in Columbia, SC. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong background in financial analysis, regulatory compliance, and accounting operations. The ideal candidate will play a key role in maintaining accuracy and efficiency within our accounting processes while supporting the organization’s financial goals.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and submit regulatory filings, including sales tax, business licenses, and annual 1099 reporting.
- Conduct thorough reviews of general ledger activity, ensuring accuracy through reconciliations and account analyses.
- Approve accounts payable invoices and employee expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Verify vendor setups, payment files, and disbursement transactions for accuracy and adherence to internal controls.
- Analyze accounting reports such as cash activity and outstanding checks, addressing discrepancies promptly.
- Assist in the monthly close process by reviewing journal entries and performing reconciliations.
- Develop detailed financial analyses, including trend and pivot analyses for balance sheet and expense accounts.
- Prepare audit documentation and support external audits by providing necessary information and work papers.
- Mentor and provide guidance to the accounting team, fostering consistent practices and process improvements.
- Minimum of four years of progressive accounting experience, including month-end close, general ledger management, and audit support.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.

Proficiency in NetSuite/PeopleSoft REQUIRED, along with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong ability to adapt and perform effectively in dynamic and fast-paced environments.
- Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills to build productive relationships within the organization.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and regulatory compliance.
- Proven ability to analyze financial data and identify necessary corrections.
- Experience in managing statutory filings and ensuring compliance with tax regulations.
