JOB TITLE: Business Development Officer

REPORTS TO: AVP of Operations

SUPERVISES: None

EXEMPTION STATUS: Non-Exempt

PRIMARY FUNCTION: Responsible for generating measurable membership, deposit, loan, and partnership growth through business development and sales activities.

Starting Hourly Rate: $33\.00

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1\. Generate new membership, loan, and deposit opportunities through proactive business development activities including prospecting, networking, referrals, cold calling, and outbound outreach.

2\. Meet or exceed established monthly, quarterly, and annual goals for membership growth, loan production, deposit acquisition, and partner development.

3\. Maintain consistent prospecting activity through scheduled calls, visits, networking events, presentations, and follow-up meetings.

4\. Track all sales activities, opportunities, contacts, and outcomes within designated reporting systems. Track and communicate efficacy and return on investment on development strategies.

5\. Represent TFCU at community events, business functions, trade shows, sponsorships, and networking opportunities to generate leads and strengthen brand awareness.

6\. At the direction of Operations Leadership manage all activities related to events including planning, execution, and social media presence.

7\. Establish and administer an annual Business Development budget.

8\. In Partnership with Branch Leaders, create and provide recommendations on an annual business development plan including community activities and promotional campaigns.

9\. Abide by state and federal banking regulations. Attend training sessions and complete compliance training on an annual basis. Maintain member and TFCU privacy and confidentiality.

OTHER DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

1\. Create and deliver informational presentations at staff meetings as assigned.

2\. Manage marketing supply inventory to fulfill event needs including ordering and sorting.

3\. Compile financial information and marketing data for analysis.

4\. Assist in creating the monthly business development report for the Board of Directors.

5\. Assist in writing copy and proofreading marketing materials.

6\. Gain and retain a high-level knowledge of all TFCU products, policies and procedures.

7\. Adhere to TFCU’s attendance and punctuality policy.

8\. Maintain a professional businesslike appearance in accordance with TFCU’s dress code policy.

9\. Engage in behavior that aligns with the credit union’s cultural beliefs.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILIITIES:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, promotions and advertising or a related field preferred.

Experience:

· Three (3) years of combined marketing, promotions, advertising and/or business development experience required.

· Minimum of two (2) years of cold calling experience with responsibilities in business to business (B2B) sales required.

· Minimum of five (5) years financial services or sales experience preferred.

Qualifications:

1\. Ability to work under pressure with time constraints and within deadlines.

2\. Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills and ability to speak in front of large groups of people.

3\. Excellent and effective organizational skills.

4\. Ability to frequently travel to off-site promotions, functions, presentations, events.

Must have a valid current driver’s license.

5\. Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite products, specifically Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

6\. Experience using contact management software.

7\. Understanding of marketing/advertising principles and concepts.

8\. Ability to work outside in a variety of temperatures and weather conditions.

9\. Ability to speak and write Spanish (preferred).

Availability: Variable five (5) day workweek, with the ability to work weekends, holidays and off-hours when required. Frequently works offsite and will need to maintain contact via phone, email or other electronic channels.

1\. Sit, stand, walk and bend: While performing the duties of this job, this position is regularly required to sit, stand and walk about inside the office.

2\. Use of hands/fingers: To operate a computer, keyboard, mouse and other office machinery such as but not limited to; a calculator, copy machine and printer. Additionally, this position is frequently required to sit and reach with hands and arms.

3\. Speech/hearing: This position frequently communicates via phone and in person. Must be able to talk to/hear members and staff.

4\. Lifting: The ability to occasionally lift up to 25 lbs. is required for this position.
