Amazon is seeking an experienced Manager with proven experience in strategy, execution, negotiation, and team development to lead a team within the US Household Goods business. As a Manager of Vendor Management (or MVM), you will own a Retail P\&L and be responsible for leading, developing, and delivering a strategy to a high performing team of Vendor Managers and Brand Specialists, setting a vision to drive revenue growth, create strong partnerships with our vendor partners, and audit the day-to-day operations, profitability, and customer experience.
This role offers the opportunity to manage a portfolio of high profile vendors and brands in the Household Consumables category, including paper, tabletop, and plastics. The team culture is entrepreneurial, and presents opportunities to lead a business which is rapidly growing to meet changing consumer needs in the household goods space. This role will allow successful candidates to develop into strong leaders who are adept at managing a high performing team and in delivering superior customer experiences and business results.
MVMs have a broad skill set, with demonstrated career progression and a proven track record of delivering results. The successful candidate will possess strong analytical acumen, superb business judgment, strategic negotiation skills, and a propensity to dive deep to solve complex problems. The candidate must understand the competitive and industry landscape in household goods and must have the leadership presence and communication skills to effectively work with vendors at all levels of their organization. You must be a self-starter and able to execute at both a tactical and strategic level – with a strong attention to detail.
Key job responsibilities
- Managing a full P\&L for the US Household Goods category, including planning, forecasting and driving growth, possessing a complete understanding of internal and external variables that impact the business
- Setting goals and strategic direction for the Household Goods business, ensuring alignment with broader US retail business goals and vision
- Driving strategic negotiations with external vendors in the household goods space, including cost optimization initiatives such as SIOC improvements, freight optimization, and payment terms
- Hiring, developing and leading a team of Retail Vendor Managers and Customer Success Manager focused on household goods categories
- Generating and implementing big ideas to drive business improvement, innovation, and scale within the household goods category and across the retail business as a whole
- Representing Amazon when meeting with senior executive teams from top household goods vendors and building long term strategic relationships
About The Team
The US Household Goods team manages some of the most recognizable brands in American households. Our portfolio includes industry leaders Procter \& Gamble (P\&G), Kimberly-Clark (KC), and Georgia-Pacific (GP) — companies representing billions in annual revenue serving millions of Amazon customers daily.
This is a high-visibility role where you'll negotiate multi-million dollar deals with Fortune 500 C-suite executives. Your decisions directly impact product availability and customer experience for essential items like paper towels, toilet paper, and trash bags.
Basic Qualifications
- 3\+ years of team management experience
- 5\+ years of account management, project or program management or buying experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience with vendor negotiations, pricing and promotion or inventory management
- Experience driving internal cross-team collaboration
- Experience at a senior level in the fashion industry ideally in an e-commerce, retail, key account management or consulting role
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using data to influence business decisions
- Experience driving direction and alignment with cross-functional teams

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
