Job Description

ADWEEK is seeking a Graphic Designer to shape visual storytelling across its print, digital, social, video, and experiential platforms. This role joins a team responsible for guiding and

maintaining ADWEEK’s visual voice while working collaboratively across editorial,

branded content, events, and product teams.

The Graphic Designer is both a creative leader and an active contributor. This person sets visual

standards, guides projects from concept through execution, works with third-party

creatives and producers, and ensures that design work across the organization is

cohesive, thoughtful, and aligned with editorial priorities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own project art direction and design across ADWEEK’s editorial platforms, including print, digital, and social
  • Serve as creative lead for assigned programs: conceptualize, present and execute innovative design solutions across channels that align with brand guidelines and program objectives.
  • Lead visual planning and execution for editorial initiatives such as special issues, digital features, landing pages, and franchises
  • Create and commission illustrations, photography, photo collages, and other visual assets for daily coverage and long-form features.
  • Create visual branding, animation and social cuts for editorial and branded video
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, from conception to final delivery, ensuring quality and accuracy.
  • Bring fresh observations, competitive research, design best practices, and industry trends to team status meetings.
  • Establish and uphold visual standards, ensuring consistency across all expressions of the ADWEEK brand including broader assessments of AI integration and guardrails

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5\+ years of experience in editorial and/or marketing design
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating excellence in both print and digital design
  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related field
  • Expert proficiency in creation tools:
  • Specifically: InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Media Encoder, and Premiere Pro
  • Competence in Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, or other digital product design tools, as well as basic knowledge of HTML and CSS.
  • Preference for candidates with video editing and animation capabilities
  • Deep understanding of typography, layout, and visual storytelling
  • Experience commissioning and art directing photography and illustration
  • Proven ability to design effective layouts across print and digital publications.
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution
  • Sound editorial judgment and keen attention to detail
  • Proven ability to lead projects across teams and manage complex workflows
