This position is 100% onsite at our Bohemia, NY office

Salary Range for this position is 90,000 -110,000, depending on experience.

This position requires a U.S Person or a person who can qualify for a Department of State or Department of Commerce License.

Position Summary:

The Buyer/Planner Sr. Sr. Buyer is responsible for strategic sourcing selection and procurement functions directly associated with DDC’s needs for materials, capital equipment and services. The individual will be responsible for driving competitive supply strategies to achieve lowest total cost, sole/single source elimination and managing suppliers to ensure supply continuity, and is instrumental in helping DDC achieve its annual revenue, profitability and productivity goals.

Key Position Accountabilities:

  • Analyzes operational processes to provide analytical and strategic sourcing execution in support of the company’s buying practices.
  • Manages the procurement process from receipt of purchase requisition through delivery of material, confirming price and expected delivery dates.
  • Secures and analyzes quotations, negotiates price and terms with suppliers and recommend suppliers with respect to cost, quality and delivery competitiveness for assigned responsibilities.
  • Capitalize on productivity opportunities including volume pricing/long term agreements, strategic source selection, blanket orders, etc.
  • Resolve pricing/lead time challenges that do not meet business needs. Elevates supplier delinquencies that delays production and delivery to appropriate personnel.
  • Review periodically to ensure on time delivery, accurate lead times in MRP, JIT material receipts to improve inventory turns and optimize inventory levels.
  • Leads/contributes assigned team projects, audits and vendor evaluations. Collaborate with cross functional teams as required to ensure kit fills, workflow, successful new product qualification,
  • Develops and maintain robust analytical models \& tools to analyze supply chain data, identify trends and provide actionable insights.
  • Develops and implements strategic solutions to meet departmental goals.
  • Ensure that safe work practices are followed and the environment is fully protected in accordance with Company policy and governmental regulations.
  • Plan and forecast raw material requirements to ensure timely availability for production, while maintaining optimal inventory levels to support operational needs.
  • Assists in the training of Buyers and Jr. Buyers (as required).

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • 5-10 years relevant work experience preferred, ideally in an electronics industry
  • Professional Certifications in Project/Supply Chain/ Procurement/Contract Management preferred
  • Strong analytical and advanced Excel skills required

Desired Characteristics:

  • Extensive experience in procurement and supplier negotiations obtaining best schedules, prices \& terms, risk management
  • Effective oral, written and presentation skills with the ability to influence using data, risk/benefit analysis. The person in this position frequently communicates with peers. Must be able to exchange efficiently in these situations.
  • Extensive Knowledge of global supply chain management principles.
  • Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlines with minimal guidance.
  • Ability to research and analyze various different types of date information and offer strategic solutions to aid company goals.
