Hermeus is a venture-backed defense aviation company reclaiming the lost art of rapid iterative prototyping to build the fastest aircraft in the world today. By prioritizing relentless hardware iteration, we deliver high-speed systems at the pace of the modern battlefield. We work with the Department of War to provide the high-speed capabilities our nation and its allies need to maintain a durable, asymmetric advantage.
Hermeus is seeking Flight Termination System RE. The Flight Termination System (FTS) Responsible Engineer owns the design, integration, testing, and certification of the vehicle’s flight termination hardware and software. This role is highly interdisciplinary requiring strong fundamentals across mechanical and electrical disciplines along with a basic understanding of aerodynamics and ability to learn and understand range safety requirements. The FTS RE leads coordination with regulatory authorities, and manages interface control with avionics and ground systems and is accountable for system reliability, documentation, and readiness through flight, serving as the technical authority for all FTS matters.
