Job Title: Medical Laboratory Technologist

Job Description

As a Medical Laboratory Technologist, you will perform medical laboratory testing on patient samples, including both routine and complex technical procedures. You will ensure that these functions are carried out in the laboratory information system efficiently and accurately. Your role will involve phlebotomy, specimen collection, processing, reporting, and storage of patient samples. Additionally, you will be responsible for machine calibration, troubleshooting, and maintaining documentation in compliance with relevant regulations. Occasionally, you will communicate test results to parents.

Responsibilities

• Perform medical laboratory testing on patient samples.
• Conduct routine and complex technical procedures in the laboratory information system.
• Carry out phlebotomy, specimen collection, processing, reporting, and storage of patient samples.
• Calibrate and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
• Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to regulations.
• Communicate test results to parents as needed.

Essential Skills

• At least 1 year of experience in a laboratory setting, preferably as a technician or in a hospital environment.
• Proficiency in Chemistry and Biology.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Comfortable performing phlebotomy, especially on children.

Additional Skills \& Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or Bachelor's degree in Medical Lab Science.
• Regular Science degree holders need to have 1 year of lab experience.
• Experience in bench laboratory work.
• ASCP certification is not required but is a great start for obtaining one.

Work Environment

This position is based in a laboratory setting, where you will be working with various lab technologies and equipment. The role involves interacting with a diverse range of patients, primarily children, in a professional and supportive environment.

Job Type \& Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grove City, OH.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28\.86 - $32\.86/hr.
