As we continue to grow and expand, we are seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to join our Procurement team and help drive supply continuity, cost optimization, and strategic supplier partnerships.

Summary

The Senior Buyer plays a critical role in ensuring the uninterrupted supply of raw materials, packaging components, and other production-related items required to support our manufacturing operations. This individual will be responsible for the end-to-end management of purchase orders, supplier relationships, and procurement activities while partnering cross-functionally with Planning, Inventory Control, Production, Quality, R\&D, and Account Management teams.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, proactive, and thrives in a fast-paced contract manufacturing environment. This role requires strong negotiation skills, attention to detail, and the ability to balance customer requirements, inventory investment, and supplier performance.

Main Responsibilities

  • Purchase Order Management

·        Assume full ownership of all assigned purchase orders from creation through closure, ensuring timely delivery and accurate system maintenance.

·        Monitor open purchase orders daily and proactively communicate delays, shortages, or risks to internal stakeholders.

·        Expedite critical materials and coordinate recovery plans to minimize supply disruptions.

·        Review and validate purchasing requirements to ensure accuracy and alignment with production schedules and customer demand.

  • Supplier Management \& Negotiation

·        Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to improve service levels, responsiveness, pricing, and delivery performance.

·        Assist in negotiate pricing, lead times, minimum order quantities, and payment terms to optimize total cost of ownership.

·        Support supplier qualification, performance reviews, and corrective action initiatives as needed.

·        Identify and evaluate alternative suppliers to reduce risk and improve competitiveness.

  • Inventory \& Planning Collaboration

·        Partner closely with Planning and Inventory teams to optimize inventory levels while maintaining customer service objectives.

·        Forecast material requirements and monitor inventory trends to prevent stockouts and excess inventory.

·        Participate in supply review meetings and provide procurement insights related to material availability and constraints.

·        Assist in developing purchasing strategies that align with business growth and operational objectives.

  • Financial \& Analytical Responsibilities

·        Support the management of procurement spend and departmental budgets through effective cost control and reporting.

·        Analyze purchasing data, pricing trends, and market conditions to identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements.

·        Generate and maintain procurement reports related to supplier performance, cost savings, service levels, inventory exposure, and open order status.

·        Monitor purchase price variances and recommend corrective actions when appropriate.

  • Continuous Improvement

·        Maintain and follow established purchasing procedures and internal controls.

·        Identify opportunities to improve procurement processes, reporting capabilities, and supplier performance.

·        Stay informed of market trends, industry developments, and potential supply chain risks affecting the beauty and personal care industry.

·        Participate in cross-functional initiatives supporting operational excellence and continuous improvement efforts.

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of procurement principles, inventory management, and supply chain operations.
  • Dependable, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision while maintaining a collaborative team approach
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively and manage supplier relationships.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis, reporting, and working with large datasets.
  • Experience working within ERP/MRP systems required.
  • Ability to prioritize competing demands and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Dependable, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision while maintaining a collaborative team approach.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a buyer
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a similar field

Work Schedule

This is a full-time position with a typical Monday-Friday, 9 am – 5:30 pm office 4/1 hybrid schedule.

Pay $90-95K/year
