Job Description

Aerostar Environmental and Construction (AEC), a Bristol Bay Construction Holdings LLC (BBCH) company is growing! In this key role, you'll manage our environmental EQuIS database, coordinate with project managers on environmental data deliverables to meet project schedules and supervise the Data Management Team. This is a REMOTE US based position.

Pay Range: $95,000 -$125,000 / annual

Essential Duties \& Responsibilities

The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties, but not all duties performed for this position. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Define, organize, implement, and enforce project data management needs/requirements
  • Oversee the administration of the data management database software (Earthsoft EQuIS)
  • Establish standards and processes and help define tools to facilitate data collection, management, and reporting
  • Run, modify, or develop reports and queries to ensure data quality and accuracy
  • Coordinate with Earthsoft on technical database inquiries
  • Work with project teams to coordinate data collection, and produce data deliverables meeting project schedules, scopes, and budgets
  • Oversee the submission of project data to contractually-required client databases (e.g. FUDSChem, ERPIMS, and NIRIS)
  • Supervise the Data Management Team
  • Identify the appropriate software tools and develop workflows for new projects
  • Support data system design, field data collection, data processing, and data reporting
  • Respond to client data requests
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times

Minimum Qualifications

To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The qualifications listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Environmental / Earth Science Studies, or eight (8) years of experience as a database manager
  • Advanced experience with EarthSoft’s EQuIS core product line (Professional, EDP, SPM, DQM, and Collect) including managing data, data streams and EDDs, sample planning, field data collection, data use, and custom reporting
  • Solid understanding of relational databases including the core EQuIS Schema
  • Experience managing environmental databases, using database applications, and reporting tools (e.g., Microsoft Access, SQL Server, SQL Server Reporting Services, SQL Server Integration Services, R Studio) for laboratory analytical results ( soil , drinking water and groundwater )
  • Excellent software application aptitude
  • Experience in working with government clients is a plus
  • Experience with emerging contaminants / PFAS is a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, effectively, and efficiently with precision, and adapt to changes in responsibilities and workloads

Additional Qualifying Factors

As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening (post accepted offer) and have acceptable background check results. If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain the appropriate clearance levels required and be able to obtain access to military installations.

The employee may be occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and lift, handle, or move objects weighing up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust vision. Some modest local and distant travel via automobile or airplane may be required to support departmental or organizational functions or objectives.

Working Conditions

The job is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi-line telephone system. The work described herein is primarily in a modern office setting. Occasional travel may be required.
