Your key accountabilities
Responsibilities
Your part in the ongoing success of our department, in supporting key frontline services will see you responsible for a variety of work, including, but not limited to:
Financial -
- Lead strategic planning processes for the directorate and manage the effective delivery of related services through best use of the human, financial and capital resources, ensuring government and corporate objectives are met.
- Critically analyse the overall performance of the department against strategic and operational plans to ensure that resources are utilised efficiently to meet existing service delivery obligations and future service demands.
- Lead and manage QFD ICT governance and investment to ensure effective realisation of innovative ICT solutions and benefits to support organisational objectives.
Stakeholder and outcome -
- Provide timely and accurate briefing on all internal policy matters.
- Provide strategic advice to senior executives and stakeholders on the development, maintenance and delivery of ICT systems and solutions to support business portfolios and frontline services.
- Develop strategic partnerships with key stakeholders and partners which contribute to the effectiveness of QFD as a department.
- Ensure integration with whole-of-government processes, constraints and opportunities are fully understood and complied with.
- Proactively bring insights into the organisation and identify opportunities to improve QFD strategy and performance and maximise outcomes for QFD and its partners.
- Represent the interests of QFD and at times represent the Chief Operating Officer at boards and government committees to ensure the strategic objectives for QFD are considered and catered to.
- Provide leadership and drive performance and accountability throughout Strategy, Systems, Standards and Performance to achieve QFD strategic objectives.

Purpose of the role
The Information and Technology Directorate is responsible for providing QFD Information Communications and Technology (ICT) solutions and management of QFD ICT investments, governance, portfolio, projects and assurance activities, including implementation of transformation programs to support business strategies and alignment with Queensland Government direction and QFD organisational objectives.
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, Strategy and Corporate Services, you will be a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, contributing to the strategic direction of the department as a whole. You will lead, manage and provide direction in the development, implementation and delivery of integrated ICT services and solutions to support operations and organisational capability. You will have full responsibility and delegated accountability for all operational and financial aspects of the directorate, and will manage all staffing, resources, systems and processes in order to achieve effective and efficient service delivery which is in line with both legislative and corporate governance requirements.
Key requirements
Highly desirable requirements
- 5\+ years' experience in senior ICT leadership and/or management positions in the public or private sector.
- Experience in the design, implementation, optimisation and maintenance of progressive ICT operating models inclusive of contemporary planning, investment, delivery and governance frameworks.
- Experience in setting the vision, purpose and ICT strategy and roadmap for a large organisation.
- 5\+ years' experience in leading the delivery of a portfolio of complex ICT programs and projects in a large multi-faceted organisation.
- 5\+ years' experience as either the project executive or senior supplier for project governance and demonstrating accountability for the definition, design, development, procurement, implementation and benefits realisation of large ICT programs and/or projects.
- A tertiary qualification in ICT, Business Management or related discipline and relevant post graduate qualifications.
