Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced software engineer who has moved into applied AI. This is an engineering role: the Senior AI Engineer designs, builds, and ships production-grade AI solutions — intelligent applications, conversational agents, and automation — to clean engineering standards, then operates and improves them once live. The successful candidate brings the discipline of a strong software developer (clean code, sound system design, testing, version control, CI/CD) and applies it to generative AI and large language models within an enterprise Microsoft environment, while ensuring alignment with KPMG security, data-privacy, and responsible-AI standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and ship production-grade AI applications, conversational agents, and automation, owning the full lifecycle from solution design through deployment and support.
  • Write clean, testable, maintainable code and apply sound software-engineering practice — modular design, code review, version control, automated testing, and CI/CD.
  • Build and integrate LLM-powered features using techniques such as retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), prompt engineering, function/tool calling, and agent orchestration.
  • Integrate AI solutions with enterprise systems and the Microsoft 365 / Power Platform ecosystem via REST APIs, connectors, and event-driven workflows.
  • Partner with stakeholders to identify high-value AI use cases and translate business requirements into well-scoped technical solutions.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and continuously improve deployed solutions — covering reliability, latency, cost, and output quality.
  • Ensure compliance with KPMG security, data-privacy, and AI-governance standards, including regional data-protection requirements.
  • Maintain clear technical documentation and contribute to engineering standards, reusable components, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

Education \& Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, AI, Data Science, or a related discipline.
  • Relevant AI, cloud, or Microsoft certifications (e.g. Azure AI Engineer, Azure Developer) are an advantage.

Experience \& Skills — Essential

A software engineer who builds AI systems — not a researcher who occasionally codes.

  • Engineering foundation:

4–6 years of professional software engineering experience, with recent, hands-on delivery of AI or LLM-powered solutions.

  • Programming:

Strong proficiency in Python (and ideally one other language such as C#, TypeScript, or JavaScript), with solid command of data structures, APIs, and clean-code practice.

  • Applied GenAI:

Practical experience building applications with Generative AI, Large Language Models, and AI APIs — including RAG, prompt engineering, and orchestration / agent frameworks.

  • Integration \& delivery:

Designing and consuming REST APIs, integrating across systems, and working with version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and containers.

  • Cloud:

Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and Azure OpenAI, deploying and operating solutions in a cloud environment.

  • Ways of working:

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work directly with business stakeholders.

Experience \& Skills — Preferred

  • Microsoft Copilot Studio, Power Automate, Power Apps, and Dataverse (Power Platform) for building and integrating enterprise agents and automation.
  • Azure AI Services and the broader Azure AI / Copilot tooling stack.
  • Vector databases and embeddings-based retrieval; LLM evaluation and output-quality monitoring.
  • Data-engineering and MLOps / LLMOps practices for deploying and maintaining AI in production.
  • Classical ML and frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow (useful, not central to this role).
  • AI governance and responsible-AI practice, ideally with awareness of regional data-protection regimes (e.g. Jordan’s Personal Data Protection Law).
