About the Opportunity
We’re a fast-growing global consumer brand with deep Asian roots and ambitious expansion plans across the
U.S., Canada, and Latin America
. As we scale our retail footprint and community presence, we need a strategic, bilingual PR leader to protect our reputation, amplify our story, and serve as the trusted voice of our brand in North America.
This role is perfect for PR professionals from retail, home improvement, CPG, or tech sectors who thrive in fast-paced environments—and want to shape a brand’s global narrative from day one.
What You’ll Own:
📰 Media \& Storytelling
- Execute regional PR strategies from HQ and localize them for U.S./LatAm audiences.
- Build relationships with
national press, trade media, lifestyle influencers, and local LA outlets
.
- Pitch compelling stories, secure interviews, and organize
store openings, pop-ups, and community events
.
🛡️ Crisis \& Reputation Management
- Monitor social, news, and regulatory channels for early risk signals.
- Maintain and activate a
robust Crisis Communication Plan
aligned with U.S. legal standards (FTC, CPSC, etc.).
- Serve as the
primary spokesperson
during incidents—drafting statements, FAQs, and social responses.
- Lead post-crisis recovery campaigns to rebuild trust and drive positive coverage.
🤝 Cross-Cultural Bridge
- Translate global brand vision into locally resonant messaging.
- Advise China HQ on U.S. consumer sentiment, media landscape, and compliance nuances.
- Collaborate with legal, customer experience, product, and store teams to ensure message consistency.
Who You Are:
- ✅
5\+ years in PR/communications
, with
2\+ years focused on crisis management
.
- ✅ Experience in
retail, home improvement, CPG, or consumer goods
(e.g., Target, Home Depot, Walmart, IKEA, Procter \& Gamble, etc.).
- ✅ Deep knowledge of
U.S. media ecosystem
, digital storytelling, and influencer engagement.
- ✅ Strong grasp of
U.S. compliance frameworks
(product safety, advertising standards, data privacy).
- ✅ Calm under pressure, decisive in ambiguity, and skilled at navigating cross-border dynamics.
- ✅
Fluent in English; Mandarin or Cantonese fluency is a strong plus
