Role
One of our clients is hiring for an experienced Epic training professional to lead instructional design, training delivery, and training environment build activities for assigned Epic applications.
About the Role
This role is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering comprehensive Epic training programs aligned with organizational workflows and best practices. The position plays a key role in system implementation, optimization, and upgrade initiatives while ensuring high-quality instructional standards.
The ideal candidate has strong healthcare knowledge, advanced instructional design expertise, and the ability to manage complex training initiatives across enterprise environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead instructional design using ADDIE methodology and adult learning principles
- Develop workflow-based curriculum, eLearning modules, job aids, and training materials
- Build, test, and maintain Epic training environments (MST)
- Train and credential classroom trainers and support Credentialed Trainers
- Deliver instructor-led, virtual, and blended learning programs
- Align training content with approved workflows and system build
- Support system implementations, upgrades, and post-live optimization efforts
- Conduct job shadows and provide end-user support
- Review program evaluations and recommend training improvements
- Lead training-related projects of varying complexity
- Maintain standardized documentation, deliverables, and reporting
- Collaborate with analysts, informatics, operational leaders, and SMEs
- Provide feedback to application teams on workflow and system enhancement opportunities
- Ensure training integrity, quality standards, and timely project delivery
Ideal Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or 4 years of clinical/technical application experience required
- Master’s degree preferred
- 2\+ years of classroom training experience in a healthcare environment required
- 4\+ years of software training curriculum development preferred
- Prior Epic testing experience required
- Experience with full-cycle implementations, upgrades, and post-live support preferred
- Strong knowledge of adult learning theory and instructional design principles
- Advanced Microsoft Office proficiency
- Strong organizational, project management, and communication skills
- Epic Certification in Training Environment Build and Application Principal Trainer required
- Must maintain current Epic Principal Trainer certifications
