What does the client do?

FinTech/Series E funded - Unicorn Status.

Size/shape of team?

Circa 300 headcount in total. Close alignment between Product and Engineering. This team is a new pillar adding to two existing pillars. Front-end and Back-end differentiated.

The Stack?

Java/Spring Boot/AWS/K8s/Terraform. Interesting levels of through-put. Front-end is React-TS, React Native but less important than back-end/platform performance.

The Role?

Three positions in total, one Level 4 (Staff level) and two Level 3 (Senior (\+)). The Staff level is still relatively hands-on but more focussed on driving best practice. You will be building out a new platform which will be microservices heavy/K8s etc. There will also be a new Intelligence Platform which will be AI-led. Data Ingestion will feature as will DevEx for the Staff Level.

The Stuff not on the JD?

Direct talking and ship features relatively quickly. They require someone pragmatic. You will be creating custom-built solutions (not off-the-shelf platforms), driving personalisation and optimisation across the product. There’s a strong focus on performance, scalability, and real-time decisioning.

Process?

3 stages - Chat with EM\>Take home assignment and subsequent walk through with Engineering Team\>Sometimes follow up chat with VP/CTO.

Remote v Hybrid?

Hybrid - London Victoria office - 3 days per week mandatory.

Salary?

Up to £130k max. 20-35% bonus \+ shares.
