Job Description
Position Summary:
The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) provides direct speech therapy rehabilitation care to patients based on physician referrals, adhering to all applicable laws, regulations, and standards.
Qualifications:
Must have a graduate degree in speech therapy (MS or MA), be ASHA certified (CCC) or eligible for a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY), and hold an active license in the relevant state. New graduates are encouraged to apply. CPR certification is required.
Responsibilities
- Assess, develop, and modify patient treatment plans with measurable and functional goals.
- Participate in community health projects as appropriate.
- Coordinate with patients, families, and support staff to meet patient needs.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation; utilize therapy software effectively.
- Oversee and evaluate care provided by CFYs (for CCC-certified SLPs).
- Follow proper safety, confidentiality, and company policies; demonstrate professionalism and good body mechanics.
- Assist in emergency procedures like patient evacuation.
- Collaborate effectively within interdisciplinary teams; provide excellent customer service.
- Perform physical activities such as sitting, standing, lifting, and reaching as required.
Skills and Knowledge:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, knowledge of regulations in post-acute care, critical thinking, good judgment, and strong communication skills in English.
