Data Engineer

An exciting opportunity to join a global private equity firm in a small data engineering team which is positioned for growth and expansion.

This role builds pipelines connecting internal OMS/PMS systems with external vendors (Bloomberg/MSCI) and contributes to a greenfield Snowflake Cortex AI initiative on the firm’s enterprise data lake, operating in direct support of the Data Management, AI, and Software Engineering functions. A typical week would consist of designing and building data pipelines (ADF, Python, MySQL), transforming data in Snowflake, building AI agents and semantic views in Snowflake Cortex, and participating in all scrum ceremonies within the close-knit data engineering team.

Core stack: Snowflake (3-4 years\+), Python, SQL, ETL/API integration

You will bring:

• 5\+ years as a data engineer
• 3\+ years in Snowflake, including Cortex AI and semantic views
• 3\+ years in Python 3, including data manipulation and API connectivity
• Experience building complex data warehouses and proficient in data modelling and star schema
• Experience working in an agile/Scrum setup
• Degree in Computer Science or related technical field
• You will be required to understand data modelling/warehousing at a working level, but not expected to architect or design a warehouse from scratch
• AI/Snowflake Cortex experience is advantageous, though a genuine passion and self-study is sufficient
• You will be required to possess soft-skills of logical thinking, inquisitiveness, and a tendency to clarify – not assume

• Stakeholder management
• Ability to design patterns and date modelling for Python applications
• Power BI or similar BI tool
• 3\+ years of ADF experience
