Position Overview

We are looking for an energetic and driven Food Scientist to join our Research \& Development team in San Carlos, CA.

This is a unique opportunity to kickstart your career in food innovation, where you will play a hands-on role in developing new products, improving existing ones, and taking ideas from the benchtop all the way to full-scale production. If you are passionate about the science of food and eager to learn the ropes of commercialization, we want you on our team.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the end-to-end development of new products and product improvements, scaling concepts from the lab to production.
• Collaborate with senior scientists to source, evaluate, and qualify new ingredients while meeting cost and margin criteria.
• Support plant trials and the commercialization of new and reformulated products across our facilities and co-packers.
• Help develop and maintain critical documentation, including Manufacturing Standard Procedures, ingredient specifications, and thermal process documents.
• Build strong relationships with internal Quality Assurance, Marketing, and Sales teams to ensure seamless product rollouts.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or a closely related field.
• 0-2 years of experience in Research \& Development, specifically focused on product development.
• A solid understanding of analytical, chemical, and microbiological principles, along with experience in formulation and sensory analysis techniques.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate across teams and present research goals.
