Mechanical Design Engineer

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer with experience in brushless motor manufacturing to support the design, development, and optimization of precision motor systems in Brooksville, Fl. This role will focus on BLDC motor, enclosure (shell) , and microcontroller design with an emphasis on manufacturability, performance, and aesthetics. Experience in medical device motor applications is highly preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop fixtures alongside manufacturing engineering, tooling, and stamping solutions to support motor fabrication and assembly processes
• Design motor housing, enclosures, and aesthetic components for microcontroller-integrated systems
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and production teams to ensure DFM/DFA best practices are implemented
• Perform CFD and simulation analysis to evaluate thermal performance, airflow, and system efficiency
• Support costing analysis and process optimization for new and existing products
• Troubleshoot mechanical and manufacturing issues on the production floor and implement corrective actions
• Participate in prototype development, testing, and validation of motor systems
• Ensure designs meet applicable regulatory and quality standards, especially for medical device applications

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• 3\+ years of experience in mechanical design within motor manufacturing or electromechanical systems
• Hands-on experience with fixture design, tooling, and manufacturing processes
• Proficiency in SolidWorks for 3D modeling and drawing creation

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with brushless DC (BLDC) motor design and manufacturing
• Background in medical device manufacturing or regulated environments
• Experience with SimCenter or similar advanced simulation tools
• Knowledge of microcontroller packaging and enclosure design
• Familiarity with thermal management and system integration
