Role \& Responsibilities

  • Deliver individual and group counselling sessions aligned with IB learner profiles and wellbeing frameworks for students aged 5–18\.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school leadership to create personalized academic and social-emotional learning (SEL) plans.
  • Design and implement school-wide wellbeing initiatives, including stress management workshops, peer mentoring programs, and mental health awareness campaigns.
  • Monitor student progress through documentation, case notes, and periodic reviews; escalate concerns using safeguarding protocols.
  • Partner with international schools to ensure compliance with IB’s Personal, Social, Emotional Education (PSE) standards and child protection policies.
  • Lead transition support for students entering or exiting the IB programme, including university/career guidance for DP students.

Skills \& Qualifications

  • Must-Have
  • IB Career-related Programme (CP) or Diploma Programme (DP) counselling experience
  • Proficiency in student wellbeing assessment tools (e.g., DESSA, StrengthsFinder, SEL rubrics)
  • Active licensure or certification in school counselling (e.g., NCSE, NCTE, or equivalent)
  • Experience with IEP/504 planning and student support coordination
  • Strong knowledge of IB learner profile attributes and PSE curriculum
  • Fluency in English; ability to communicate effectively with multicultural student and parent groups
  • Preferred
  • Training in CBT, mindfulness-based interventions, or trauma-informed practices
  • Experience working in international schools or multilingual academic settings
  • Familiarity with student information systems (e.g., ManageBac, PowerSchool)
