Job Description
Design, analyze, and optimize mechanical systems to meet project objectives. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure technical excellence and project success. Drive innovation and efficiency in all aspects of mechanical engineering projects.
- Designs, develops, prototypes, and tests all aspects of mechanical components, equipment, and machinery.
- Develops specifications for new parts or prototypes.
- Identifies appropriate materials and processes to ensure the quality, performance, and manufacturability of products.
- Use CAD software and other design and modeling tools to develop and improve parts and products.
- Conducts analysis and tests to determine weaknesses and failures in prototypes or products.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, or computer-generated reports.
- Confer with engineers or other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, or provide technical information.
- Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, or other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, or maintenance requirements of designs or applications.
- Conduct research that tests or analyzes the feasibility, design, operation, or performance of equipment, components, or systems.
- Develop, coordinate, or monitor all aspects of production, including selection of manufacturing methods, fabrication, or operation of product designs.
- Investigate equipment failures or difficulties to diagnose faulty operation and recommend remedial actions.
- Develop or test models of alternate designs or processing methods to assess feasibility, sustainability, operating condition effects, potential new applications, or necessity of modification.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area. Follow established safety and ergonomic standards.
- May be called upon to perform comparable duties of a similar or related nature and/or assist in other areas as needed.
- Learning, understanding, continuously improving, and promoting the division’s quality management system in accordance with ISO standards.
- Specific skills, proficiencies, and knowledge in field related to position, as identified by department leadership.
- Experience in off highway automation and/or autonomy.
- Strong experience with off highway vehicle electronics.
- Well-developed problem analysis and problem-solving techniques.
- Team player who is self-motivated and has the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members and leadership staff.
- Travel may be necessary.
- US Persons required for this position.
Education And Experience
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, in field related to specific position.
- Entry level or early career engineer 0-2 years with bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or master’s degree in engineering field. Or experience in lieu of education.
