Job Overview
The Value Stream Manager is a key operations leader responsible for driving safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and financial performance within the Sedalia manufacturing facility. This role leads and develops high-performing teams while driving continuous improvement initiatives that enhance operational excellence and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate is a hands-on manufacturing leader with a proven track record of leading teams, implementing Lean principles, and delivering measurable business results in a fast-paced production environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead value stream performance across safety, quality, delivery, productivity, inventory, and cost metrics.
- Build and develop an engaged, high-performing workforce focused on accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Drive Lean Manufacturing and Operational Excellence initiatives to improve efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction.
- Develop and execute operational strategies aligned with business objectives and annual operating plans.
- Monitor key performance indicators and implement corrective actions to achieve operational goals.
- Coach, mentor, and develop supervisors, team leaders, and associates to strengthen organizational capability and succession readiness.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to support customer requirements, business growth, and operational priorities.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business, or a related field preferred.
- 10\+ years of manufacturing leadership experience in a production environment.
- Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and Operational Excellence methodologies.
- Proven ability to lead teams and deliver results in safety, quality, productivity, and cost performance.
- Demonstrated success developing employees and building high-performing teams.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to effectively influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or advanced degree.
- Experience in low-volume, high-mix manufacturing environments.
- Lean Six Sigma certification or comparable Continuous Improvement experience.
- Experience leading transformational change initiatives within manufacturing operations.
