Job Description

Position Summary:

The Financial Analyst, FP\&A, is responsible for providing the Finance team with analyses to understand financial and operating aspects of the business and assess performance. This position reports to the Finance Manager, will have regular interaction with and will provide support to the Department Managers and corporate accounting.

Essential job functions to be performed:

  • Financial analysis and month-end close – partner with accounting on monthly close and recommend changes to accounting transactions, as necessary. Prepare and present analyses of actual results, forecasts, and trends. Leverage analytical tools to quickly access data and present meaningful, concise information with recommendations for action.
  • Ongoing forecasting – compile and analyze forecasts compared to actual results, annual budgets and previous forecasts. Coordinate with team to incorporate into the broader forecasting model.
  • Annual budgeting process – assist in the development of the corporation’s annual consolidated budget process. Preparation and presentation of the budgets, coordinating assumptions with management and finance.
  • Financial modeling Supply Chain/3rd Party Vendor – develop and track operations metrics from our contract warehouses and our small parcels carriers. Conduct detailed freight studies and provide detailed analysis/recommendations using a variety of data and system sources, industry-based publications and in-house standalone analytical tools to support operational and freight savings goals.
  • Drive the Duty Drawback process.

Requirements/Qualifications/Experience

  • 3 years or more relevant progressive experience, preferably within FP\&A functions and with some accounting experience
  • Advanced Excel skills, and proficient in Word and PowerPoint
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, effective interpersonal skills with all levels of the company
  • Proficiency with financial software and systems (NetSuite and Hyperion experience preferred)
  • Process-minded, focused on continuous improvement
  • Budgeting and forecasting experience
  • Highly motivated self-starter
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Exhibits resourcefulness and ownership, as well as business acumen

Education:

  • BS in Finance or Accounting
