Python Developer - Marquee NYC Front Office Tech Team

We are a global macro investment fund seeking a talented Python Developer with 2–4 years of experience to join our technology team. This role sits at the intersection of engineering and investment, supporting the development of scalable tools and infrastructure used by portfolio managers, researchers, and traders.

The ideal candidate has strong Python skills, a problem-solving mindset, and experience within financial services (banking, private equity, hedge funds, or financial consulting preferred).

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Python-based tools to support trading, research, and risk management
• Work closely with investment teams to translate business needs into technical solutions
• Develop and optimize data pipelines for large financial datasets (market, macro, alternative data)
• Contribute to analytics, backtesting frameworks, and portfolio monitoring tools
• Improve system performance, reliability, and scalability across the tech stack
• Participate in code reviews and help drive best practices in development

Requirements

• 2–4 years of professional experience in Python development
• Strong proficiency in Python (pandas, NumPy, and related data libraries)
• Experience working with APIs, databases (SQL/NoSQL), and data pipelines
• Solid understanding of software engineering principles and version control (Git)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment
