Job Description
12 Month Contract - Hybrid from our Alexandria, NSW office.
As Purchasing Officer, you'll play a key role in keeping our operations running smoothly through smart purchasing and planning decisions. Working closely with our Sourcing team, you'll support category roadmaps and identify opportunities to continuously improve how we operate.
You'll own end-to-end purchasing and planning across Fresh Produce and Ready-to-Heat categories, balancing customer demand, supplier capability and operational requirements.
Success in this role means making timely, commercially sound purchasing decisions that deliver strong service outcomes, control costs and minimise waste.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Own end-to-end purchasing, planning, and PO execution across allocated categories
- Translate demand requirements into accurate and timely ordering decisions across FCs
- Partner closely with Sourcing to align supplier capability, availability, and commercial outcomes
- Monitor and manage inventory, service levels, and waste performance
- Drive ordering discipline, cadence, and continuous improvement
- Identify risks and implement proactive supply and inventory actions

You’ll Bring
- 3\+ years’ experience in purchasing or planning
- Experience in fresh produce, ready-to-heat, or other perishable / short shelf-life categories highly regarded
- Strong commercial judgement balancing cost, availability, and waste
- Confident stakeholder management across suppliers and internal teams
- Data-driven with strong attention to detail
