The Sr. Level SQL Database Administrator will be responsible for providing technical leadership and support to ensure peak performance and maximum availability of the database systems. This position will also provide guidance and expertise for database tuning, maintenance and monitoring standards. This role manages the administration of the organization's SQL database, analyzes the organization's database needs and develops a long-term strategy for data storage, and establishes policies and procedures related to data security and integrity and monitors and limits database access as needed. This position will require the skills needed to evolve our database platforms in cloud technology and support.

Sr. SQL Server DBA Necessary Skills:

• 7-10 years’ experience in SQL Database Administration, including engineering support, architecture, design, implementation, and operations

• Skilled in writing and tuning SQL, T-SQL, and database storage objects (packages, triggers, etc.)

• Thorough understanding of backup and recovery processes

• Understands the concepts of “High Availability”, such as Always-on, Clustering, Database Mirroring and/or other technologies

• Familiarity or knowledge and understanding around Open source databases like MySQL or PostgreSQL a bonus

• Familiarity or knowledge around Cloud services, Data Analytics and how it relates to RDBMS databases a bonus

• Hands on development experience using Terraform, Cloudformation and other Infrastructure as Code utilities.

Sr. SQL Server DBA Preferred Skills:

• Data Modeling experience, Database Dev Ops

• Enterprise infrastructure planning and Architectural insight experience

• Extensive knowledge and experience supporting performance tuning, with preference to Mircrosoft cubes and SQL statement reviews. Includes advanced functions, trigger, procedures, XML, and JSON

• Experience and understanding of Brokerage Services

• Experience in Reporting Services Development (SSRS)

• Experience in Integration Services Development (SSIS)

• Experience and automation with Power Shell

• Experience using tools that support Infrastructure as code. (Cloudformation, Terraform, Pig, Python, Powershell)

• 5\+ experience writing Tsql and complex stored procedures

Sr. SQL Server DBA Degrees or certifications required

• Bachelor's Degree (BS or BA) or equivalent experience

• Recent Certification in AWS, Google, and/or Azure related to Database Services and Cloud Support or equivalent work experience.

Sr. SQL Server DBA Soft skills such as “team player” “collaborative mentality” etc.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and proven ability to work effectively with all organizational levels??
