About The Role

We are currently seeking a highly experienced Lead Java Developer to join our team on a contract basis at our Leawood, KS location, with a hybrid work model. The ideal candidate will have over 12 years of hands-on experience in Java development, with a strong focus on microservices architecture and event-driven systems. As a Lead Java Developer at Inficare, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend services that support our clients' digital initiatives. Your expertise will be instrumental in building resilient, high-performance microservices using Java and Spring Boot, integrating with various cloud platforms, and managing complex distributed systems. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead technical initiatives, mentor junior developers, and contribute to the overall architecture and success of our projects.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 12\+ years of professional experience in Java development, with a strong emphasis on Spring Boot and Spring Cloud frameworks.
• Proven expertise in designing and implementing microservices architectures.
• Extensive hands-on experience working with Apache Kafka, including producers, consumers, and stream processing.
• Solid understanding of RESTful API development, JSON data formats, and distributed systems.
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Strong knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve production issues efficiently.
• Effective communication and leadership skills, with a demonstrated ability to mentor team members and collaborate across departments.
• Local candidates preferred, with H1B visa holders being considered.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable microservices using Java and Spring Boot, ensuring adherence to best practices and architectural standards.
• Develop and manage event-driven architectures leveraging Apache Kafka, facilitating real-time data processing and system integrations.
• Ensure the high performance, reliability, and scalability of backend services by implementing robust coding practices and conducting thorough testing.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs to enable seamless communication between different system components and external integrations.
• Participate actively in code reviews, testing, and deployment pipelines, supporting continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) processes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues in distributed environments, minimizing downtime and ensuring system stability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, QA, and DevOps to deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Mentor junior developers, providing technical guidance and fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends, recommending innovative solutions to enhance system capabilities.
