Job Description

Role Overview

The ETL Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining ETL workflows that support data integration, data warehousing, and business intelligence initiatives. This role involves working closely with business analysts, data engineers, and stakeholders to ensure efficient, accurate, and secure data movement across systems.

Key Responsibilities

1\. ETL Development

  • Design, develop, and maintain ETL processes for extracting, transforming, and loading data from various sources to target systems.
  • Build scalable and optimized ETL pipelines using tools such as

Informatica, Talend, SSIS, DataStage, Azure Data Factory

, etc.

  • Develop complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and data transformations.

2\. Data Integration \& Data Quality

  • Perform data profiling, data cleansing, data validation, and error handling.
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across all systems.
  • Troubleshoot data issues and implement corrective actions.

3\. Performance Optimization

  • Optimize ETL jobs for performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Monitor ETL workloads and make necessary enhancements.
  • Improve data load processes to meet SLAs.

4\. Collaboration \& Documentation

  • Work closely with Business Analysts to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Collaborate with data architects and developers to implement data models.
  • Create and maintain documentation for ETL jobs, data mappings, and workflows.

5\. Testing \& Deployment

  • Conduct unit testing and support system, integration, and UAT testing.
  • Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to development standards.
  • Assist in production deployments and provide post-deployment support.

Required Skills \& Qualifications

Technical Skills

  • Hands-on experience with ETL tools (e.g., Informatica, SSIS, Talend, ADF, DataStage).
  • Strong SQL and PL/SQL skills.
  • Experience with data warehousing concepts (Star Schema, Snowflake Schema).
  • Familiarity with relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL).
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms such as

Azure, AWS, or GCP

is a plus.

Soft Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Good communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
