VP of Engineering and Product

A technology organization at the forefront of securing classified data in mission-critical environments is seeking a senior leader to drive software and hardware product strategy and execution for next-generation data-at-rest security solutions across defense, intelligence, and enterprise customers.

This role sits at the intersection of engineering, product, and mission delivery, overseeing roadmap development, agile execution, and external engagement with key stakeholders across the defense ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

Product \& Technology Strategy

• Define and lead integrated hardware and software roadmaps aligned to market, customer, and mission requirements

• Drive innovation in data-at-rest security, Zero Trust architectures, and edge computing environments

• Translate emerging requirements (e.g., CSfC, PQC, AI-driven threats) into actionable product strategy

Engineering Leadership

• Lead and scale a high-performing agile engineering organization across firmware, software, and hardware domains

• Establish and enforce agile development processes, ensuring predictable delivery and high-quality outcomes

• Oversee end-to-end product lifecycle from concept through deployment and sustainment

Program \& Execution Management

• Align engineering execution with customer programs, timelines, and compliance requirements

• Drive cross-functional coordination across product, engineering, and partner organizations

• Ensure delivery of secure, scalable, and mission-ready solutions

External Engagement \& Evangelism

• Serve as a technical and strategic evangelist for the organization’s solutions

• Engage with:

o Defense and intelligence customers

o Federal System Integrators (FSIs)

o OEM partners and industry stakeholders

• Represent the organization at industry events, customer briefings, and strategic discussions

Required Qualifications

• 10\+ years of leadership experience in engineering, product, or technology strategy roles

• Proven experience managing agile engineering teams delivering complex hardware/software systems

• Deep understanding of cybersecurity, encryption, or data protection technologies

• Demonstrated experience developing and executing product roadmaps

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience within the U.S. Armed Services or direct support of DoD programs

• Familiarity with CSfC, NSA requirements, or National Security Systems (NSS)

• Experience working with edge computing, embedded systems, or secure storage technologies

• Strong background in defense, aerospace, or government technology markets
