Senior Onboarding Engineer – (FinTech)

Overview

We are working with a fast-growing technology firm in the financial services space that is expanding its onboarding engineering capability. They are looking to hire an experienced Senior Onboarding Engineer to play a key role in delivering client implementations for their core data platform.

This position sits at the intersection of engineering, data, and client delivery, working closely with both internal teams and external stakeholders to onboard new institutions, interpret complex data requirements, and deliver scalable solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end client onboarding and implementation projects for a data-driven platform
• Design and develop data ingestion and transformation pipelines using Python
• Enhance performance, reliability, and scalability of data pipelines through automation, testing, and monitoring
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including business analysts, implementation leads, and client technical stakeholders
• Translate complex data and regulatory requirements into robust technical solutions
• Support and mentor team members while contributing to continuous process improvements
• Promote the use of AI-assisted development tools and help embed best practices across the team

Required Experience

• Strong grounding in software engineering principles (OOP, clean code, testing, CI/CD, observability)
• Proficiency in Python, including experience with data libraries (e.g. pandas)
• Experience building and maintaining large-scale data pipelines, ideally within regulated or high-integrity environments
• Solid understanding of data modelling, SQL, and database design
• Ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy and ownership
• Experience working with non-technical stakeholders to translate business or regulatory requirements into technical specifications

Desirable Experience

• Exposure to cloud-based data infrastructure (e.g. AWS)
• Experience with modern data platforms such as Spark, Databricks, or Snowflake
• Background in financial services or FinTech environments
