Arizona Premier Homecare provides compassionate, high-quality in-home care to seniors and families across the West Valley. Our caregivers are the heart of what we do — and we're looking for a Hiring \& Payroll Manager who can help us recruit great people and pay them accurately and on time, every time.
About the Role
This is a part-time, primarily remote role (about 20 hours per week) wearing two important hats: (1) Hiring — recruiting, screening, onboarding, and credentialing caregivers, and (2) Payroll — running an accurate, on-time payroll for our hourly caregiver workforce.
The right person is detail-obsessed with payroll, warm and professional with candidates, and brings systems and structure wherever they go. If you've worked in homecare, home health, staffing, or any hourly-workforce business, you'll feel right at home.
What You'll Do
Hiring \& Recruiting (\~50%)
- Source and recruit caregivers (job boards, Indeed, social media, referral programs, community partnerships)
- Screen applicants, conduct phone screens, and schedule interviews
- Manage the full onboarding process: applications, background checks, fingerprint clearance cards, TB tests, CPR/First Aid verification, and Arizona caregiver certification
- Maintain caregiver files and ensure all credentials stay current and compliant
- Build and run a caregiver referral program to keep our pipeline strong
Payroll \& HR Admin (\~50%)
- Process bi-weekly (or weekly) payroll accurately and on time
- Verify timesheets, mileage, overtime, and PTO
- Handle new-hire paperwork (W-4s, I-9s, direct deposit, state forms)
- Maintain payroll records, file payroll taxes, and coordinate with our accountant/bookkeeper
- Respond to caregiver pay questions quickly and clearly
- Help maintain HR policies, employee handbook updates, and basic compliance (ACA, workers' comp, etc.)
What We're Looking For
- 2\+ years of payroll experience (homecare, healthcare, staffing, or hourly workforce strongly preferred)
- 1\+ years of recruiting or hiring coordination experience
- Familiarity with payroll software (Gusto, ADP, Paychex, QuickBooks Payroll, AxisCare, WellSky, or similar)
- Strong knowledge of Arizona employment, payroll, and labor laws
- Familiarity with Arizona caregiver certification requirements (DPS fingerprint clearance, TB testing, CPR/First Aid) is a big plus
- Highly organized, accurate, and trustworthy with sensitive information
- Strong communicator — friendly with candidates, professional with caregivers, and clear with leadership
- Self-directed; comfortable working remotely with minimal oversight
- Local to the West Valley (Goodyear, Sun City, Surprise, Avondale, Buckeye, etc.)
- Reliable transportation and valid driver's license
Bonus Points If You Have
- Experience in a homecare or home health agency
- PHR, SHRM-CP, or FPC/CPP certification
- Experience with applicant tracking systems (ATS)
Schedule
- \~20 hours per week to start, with potential to grow into full-time
- Mostly remote with flexible hours (must be available during normal business hours for payroll deadlines and candidate communication)
- 1–2 hours per week in person in the Goodyear / Sun City area
