Role: Progress DBA

Location: Newark, New Jersey

• Mandatory Skills: Open Edge Progress Database, AWS Services and Cloud knowledge, Oracle and MSSQL Database, Shell Scripting
• Managing Progress OpenEdge databases, handling incidents related to performance, stability, corruption, replication, and recovery, including deep dive root cause analysis.
• Lead database administration activities such as upgrades, patching, backup \& recovery, HA/DR configuration, and capacity planning to ensure high availability and resilience.
• Drive performance tuning and optimization, analyzing database logs, system behavior, and environment configurations to proactively prevent recurring issues.
• Mentoring offshore team, contributing to runbooks and knowledge base, and collaborating with vendor support when required.

Salary And Other Compensation

The annual salary for this position is between $115,000- $130,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
