UX Designer
Position Overview
The UX Designer will work with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment to create intuitive, user-centered digital experiences. This role will involve UX design, information architecture, user research, stakeholder collaboration, and project management.
Key Responsibilities
UX Design
- Partner with cross-functional teams to define user stories and UX deliverables.
- Design the visual style, interface, and interaction flows for digital applications.
- Create conceptual diagrams, wireframes, visual mockups, and prototypes.
- Develop and maintain detailed design specifications and reusable design patterns.
- Rapidly iterate designs for usability testing and development handoff.
- Design responsive, adaptive, and accessible experiences.
- Influence design and Product Owner decisions using UX best practices, research findings, and business requirements.
- Collaborate with developers to identify effective and efficient implementation solutions.
Information Architecture
- Translate business rules, requirements, and existing assets into scalable UX systems and enterprise solutions.
- Create, maintain, and distribute UX documentation, including:
- Navigation flows
- Wireframes and mockups
- Use cases and task flows
- Prototypes
- Content requirements
- System and error states
- Organize and classify complex information to create intuitive application flows.
- Advocate for users and partner with business owners to develop features aligned with user needs.
UX Research
- Develop research strategies based on project KPIs.
- Create usability testing plans, scripts, and prototype scenarios.
- Formulate and test hypotheses throughout the design process.
- Conduct research using:
- Heuristic evaluations
- User interviews
- Remote unmoderated testing
- In-person usability testing
- Recruit, schedule, and moderate usability studies and user interviews.
- Analyze and present research findings to support design decisions.
Collaboration and Project Management
- Collect, analyze, present, and incorporate user and stakeholder feedback.
- Manage changes to UX deliverables.
- Clearly present design recommendations using research findings, UX best practices, testing data, or business requirements.
- Provide timely project updates, including remaining work, issues, and risks.
- Manage project communications and negotiate with key stakeholders.
- Manage multiple concurrent projects and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors Engineering, Computer Science, Visual Design, Library Science, or a related discipline; equivalent experience or training may be considered.
- At least 3 years of experience in UX design, interaction design, or a similar field.
- Hands-on experience designing native iOS and Android applications.
- Strong proficiency with modern design and prototyping tools, such as Axure, Sketch, Zeplin, Flinto, or Adobe Creative Cloud.
- Experience working closely with developers from initial concept through implementation in an Agile environment.
- Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and current web and mobile design trends.
- In-depth understanding of qualitative and quantitative research methods.
- Experience with moderated and remote unmoderated usability-testing tools and platforms.
- Experience rapidly iterating designs for user testing and development.
- Experience creating responsive, adaptive, and accessible designs.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational, presentation, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to collaborate across disciplines, product lines, roles, geographic locations, and time zones.
