  • Location \& Work Model:

Barcelona, Hybrid (2–3 days in-office)

  • Project Highlight:

Strategic IT Category Leadership

The Project

This project represents a strategic shift of global commercial expertise to a specialized hub in Barcelona. You will be joining a world-leading professional services organization that operates at the intersection of talent and technology. The project involves taking full ownership of high-value IT categories, specifically refreshing long-standing network infrastructure and SaaS contracts, to ensure the business remains agile in a rapidly evolving digital landscape. It is a transition that requires both high-level strategy and the willingness to get involved in the details of complex deal-making.

The Role \& Responsibilities

This is a dual-focus role designed for a professional who enjoys the balance of individual contribution (70%) and people management (30%). Your performance will be linked directly to the efficiency of the global supply chain and the professional growth of your team.

  • Strategic Sourcing Leadership:

You will lead high-impact sourcing initiatives (RFIs/RFPs) for major IT pillars, including SaaS and infrastructure, ensuring the business receives maximum value and innovation from its partners.

  • Commercial Negotiation:

Acting as the lead negotiator, you will structure deals and navigate both commercial and legal terms for complex contracts, ensuring risk is mitigated before final legal review.

  • People Development:

You will manage and coach a junior team member, focusing on their professional flourishing and ensuring the team delivers against global procurement benchmarks.

  • Stakeholder Business Partnering:

You will act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, translating business needs into effective procurement strategies and providing market-driven insights.

  • Post-Award Vendor Management:

You will lead relationship management for a portfolio of strategic vendors, ensuring performance remains high and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.

What You Should Bring

We are looking for a specialist who has moved beyond generalist procurement and possesses deep expertise in the technology sector.

Must-haves:

  • 7 to 10 years of experience

in procurement, with a focus on IT (SaaS, infrastructure, and hardware).

  • Proven Sourcing Expertise:

Demonstrated experience leading complex, end-to-end sourcing deals, including supply market analysis and spend profiling.

  • Negotiation Acumen:

Strong ability to manage the full negotiation lifecycle, including a solid grasp of commercial contract law.

  • Leadership Presence:

Experience managing or coaching direct reports within a professional environment.

  • Language:

Business English is essential for global collaboration.

Nice-to-haves:

  • Experience in a multinational environment, managing vendors across different time zones and jurisdictions.
  • Fluency in Spanish, Catalan, or other European languages (e.g., French or German).
  • A data-driven mindset with the ability to turn analytics into actionable insights.

What’s in it for You?

This position offers the chance to lead a significant procurement transition within a global market leader. The challenge lies in the sophistication of the deals; you will be tasked with reviewing and modernizing long-term infrastructure contracts that are foundational to the company's global operations.

The environment is professional and high-performing but maintains a supportive, coaching-led vibe. Success in the first year will be defined by your integration into the global team and the measurable impact you have on your direct report's development.

About the Company

They pride themselves on a culture of organic growth and professional development, operating with a lean and efficient structure that empowers senior managers to make a tangible impact.
