Job Description
The role involves providing specialized speech and language services to students aged 5-22 with severe behavioral and developmental needs in a nurturing, inclusive environment.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments, including evaluations for AAC needs, and prepare reports for IEP teams.
- Develop and implement individualized therapy plans focusing on communication, social skills, and feeding, using evidence-based and behaviorally informed strategies.
- Collaborate with educators, therapists, and families to promote communication across settings and train staff in supporting functional communication methods.
- Support behavior and crisis interventions by integrating communication strategies and modeling calm, consistent practices.
- Maintain accurate documentation, ensure compliance with relevant regulations, and participate in interdisciplinary team activities.
