Position Overview

The Director of IT – Infrastructure \& Operations is the senior leader responsible for the

end-to-end ownership, reliability, security, and scalability of the organization’s IT environment

across corporate and field operations. This role consolidates strategic leadership and day-to-day execution for IT infrastructure, service desk operations, cybersecurity, network and systems engineering, and cloud computing.

The Director ensures that technology platforms are

secure, resilient, standardized, and cost-effective,

supporting business growth, operational continuity, and an exceptional team member experience. This role serves as the primary authority for IT operations and infrastructure strategy, translating business priorities into executable technology solutions while maintaining direct accountability for outcomes.

Essential Functions

IT Infrastructure \& Cloud Operations

  • Own the design, implementation, performance, and lifecycle management of enterprise infrastructure, including networks, servers, storage, end user computing, endpoints, cloud platforms, and field technology systems
  • Lead cloud infrastructure strategy and operations, ensuring scalability, availability, cost optimization, and secure architecture
  • Establish and maintain standards for system configuration, monitoring, capacity planning, and performance optimization
  • Ensure high availability, system uptime, and operational resilience across all environments

Service Desk \& IT Operations

  • Own IT service management (ITSM) functions including incident, problem, change, and asset management
  • Ensure consistent, responsive, and customer-focused IT support across corporate and multi-site field operations
  • Define and monitor SLAs, KPIs, and operational metrics; identify trends and drive continuous improvement
  • Serve as the final escalation point for critical incidents and system outages

Cybersecurity \& Risk Management

  • Own operational cybersecurity execution, including identity and access management, endpoint protection, vulnerability management, security monitoring, and incident response
  • Ensure adherence to cybersecurity frameworks, internal policies, data protection requirements, and regulatory obligations
  • Partner with executive leadership, legal, and external vendors to assess and mitigate technology risk
  • Lead disaster recovery, business continuity planning, and cyber incident preparedness

Leadership \& Talent Development

  • Lead, develop, and retain high-performing IT infrastructure, operations, and security teams
  • Establish clear roles, accountability, and performance expectations across IT operations
  • Foster a culture of service excellence, ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to managers and senior technical staff

Vendor \& Financial Management

  • Own vendor strategy and management for infrastructure, cloud, cybersecurity, telecom, and managed services
  • Negotiate contracts, manage SLAs, and ensure value delivery from external partners
  • Develop and manage the IT infrastructure and operations budget, including operating expenses and capital investments
  • Drive cost optimization, lifecycle planning, and return-on-investment analysis

Business Partnership \& Strategy Execution

  • Act as the primary IT partner to business leaders for infrastructure, operations, and security needs
  • Translate business priorities into scalable, secure, and operationally sound technology solutions
  • Lead IT integration and standardization efforts for acquisitions and new locations for Networking and Security
  • Support enterprise initiatives that improve operational efficiency, customer experience, and team member productivity
  • Manage the budget including capital and expense planning

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, engineering, or a related field required;
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive IT leadership experience including a minimum of 5 years in a senior IT management
  • Proven experience managing enterprise IT environments across multi-site, field-based, high-growth businesses
  • Demonstrated success owning both

  • Ability to balance hands-on problem solving with strategic planning
  • Strong financial and vendor management acumen
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into business outcomes
  • Proven ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, evolving environments

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work at a computer for extended periods of time
  • Occasional travel to field sites or business locations as required (up to 10%)
  • Availability to provide support during critical incidents or off-hours
  • May require lifting or handling IT equipment up to 30 pounds during installations or repairs
