Job Description

Job Summary

The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing the organization's accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with accounting standards and regulations, and supporting month-end and year-end closing processes. This role also provides financial analysis, mentors junior accounting staff, and assists with audits and budgeting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Manage general ledger activities and ensure accurate journal entries.
  • Perform month-end and year-end closing procedures.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, and intercompany transactions.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards (e.g., GAAP) and company policies.
  • Prepare tax and statutory filings as applicable.
  • Assist with internal and external audits by preparing schedules and supporting documentation.
  • Analyze financial data and identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
  • Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.
  • Improve accounting processes and internal controls.
  • Mentor and supervise junior accounting staff.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional departments to support financial decision-making.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Experience in manufacturing environment preferred.
  • CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification preferred.
  • 5–8 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and tax regulations.
  • Experience with ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
