Job Summary
The People \& Culture Generalist is a focused execution role at the heart of the People \& Culture division. Reporting directly to the Director of People \& Culture, this person is the operational owner of four critical functions: benefits administration, compensation administration, merit and
promotion
cycle execution, and front-line employee relations support.
Essential Job Functions
Benefits Administration
- Administer all employee benefits programs day-to-day, including group health, dental, vision, life insurance, and supplemental coverage
- Own open enrolment end-to-end: prepare employee-facing communications, manage the enrolment platform, support employees through the window, and reconcile elections post-close
- Process all qualifying life events (QLEs), new hire enrolments, changes, and terminations accurately and within required
timeframes
in the HRIS and carrier portals
- Administer leave of absence programs including FMLA, applicable state leave laws, parental leave, and short- and long-term disability — serving as the primary coordinator between the employee, their manager, and payroll throughout
- Respond to employee benefits questions accurately and promptly, escalating to the Director when cases fall outside defined process
- Maintain
accurate
benefits records and support annual compliance filings, audits, and non-discrimination testing as
required
Talent Acquisition
- In conjunction with the TA Team, find ways to refine current process or create new more efficient ones
- Using templates, create and send offers to candidates.
- Ensure that Job Descriptions, Job
Codes
and salary market pricing are
accurate
and up to date in the ATS
- Devote time to understanding capabilities of our recruiting technologies, and
optimizing
Microsoft (Forms and SharePoint), ATS/HRIS
- Act as liaison with TA team and People Operations supporting preboarding/onboarding process
- Ensure data integrity within all recruiting and related systems including opening requisitions, closing requisitions
Compensation Administration
- Maintain compensation data in PayScale and UKG including job codes, salary bands, pay grades, and individual records
- Ensure documentation for compensation changes (promotions, adjustments, reclassifications) are
communicated to the People Operations Team for updating in UKG promptly and in coordination with payroll cut-off schedules
- Support the administration of the 401(k) and retirement plan, including enrolment processing, contribution changes, and liaison with the plan record-keeper on routine matters
- Prepare and distribute total compensation statements and benefits summaries for employees annually
- In conjunction with the Director, People \& Culture complete annual salary surveys with vendors.
- Partner with the Sr. Payroll/HRIS Manager to ensure all compensation data flows accurately into payroll runs and flag discrepancies before processing
Merit \& Promotion Cycle Execution
- Work with the Sr Manager of Payroll to support the end-to-end administration of the annual merit cycle
- Administer the promotion cycle process in partnership with the Director and People Operations. Track nominations and prepare approval documentation.
- Maintain audit trails and change logs throughout merit and promotion cycles to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Identify
data discrepancies during cycle execution and escalate promptly.
Employee Relations/front-line Support and Documentation
- Serve as the first point of contact for routine employee relations enquiries, providing
accurate
information on policy, process, next
steps
and routing matters to the PCBP when judgment or investigation is
required
- Prepare and
maintain
ER case documentation including meeting notes, outcome letters, PIPs, and supporting materials under the direction of the PCBP
- Maintain the ER case log with accuracy and confidentiality, tracking open matters, key dates, and required follow-ups
- Schedule and coordinate ER-related meetings, including investigation interviews, performance conversations, and follow-up check-ins
- Support offboarding administration for involuntary separations, coordinating documentation with the People Operations Team.
- Treat all ER matters with strict confidentiality; this role does not conduct investigations independently or make determination recommendations

Position Requirements
- 3–4 years of experience in an HR, benefits, compensation, or people operations role with hands-on administration responsibilities
- Working knowledge of US benefits law including ERISA, FMLA, ACA, HIPAA, and COBRA
- Experience administering benefits programs including open enrolment and qualifying life events
- Demonstrated ability to
maintain
high data accuracy in an HRIS, preferably UKG and PayScale.
- Comfort managing multiple concurrent processes (
e.g.
a leave case, a merit cycle, and a benefits audit simultaneously) without dropping detail
- Strong written communication, able to draft clear, professional employee-facing documents and
case notes
- Absolute discretion when handling confidential compensation and employee relations information
- Experience supporting a merit or compensation review cycle.
- Exposure to 401(k) or retirement plan administration
- Familiarity with leave administration across multiple US states
- Experience
maintaining
an ER case log or supporting documentation for formal HR processes

Physical Demands:
Minimum physical exertion. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is
frequently
required to sit, communicate, reach, and manipulate objects,
tools
or controls. The position requires mobility. Duties involve moving materials weighing up to 5 pounds on a regular basis. Manual dexterity and coordination are
required
over 75% of the work period while operating equipment such as computer keyboard and mouse.
Work Environment:
The working conditions will vary between an office environment and a remote home environment.
The ideal protected indoor work environment is a clean, non-hazardous work area. The noise level in the work environment is typical of most office or remote home environments with telephones, personal interruptions, and background noises.

Final salary is based on a number of factors including market location, job-related knowledge, education/training, certifications, key skills, experience, internal peer equity as well as business considerations.
The anticipated base pay range for this position is :: $85,000 USD - $95,000 USD
