Job Description

IT Operations \& Security Compliance Coordinator

About the Company:

We are a family-owned business in our 50th year in operation and have become a leading company in the services we provide to manufacturers. Our unwavering commitment to quality is evidenced by our adherence to stringent standards such as ISO 9001 and AS9100\. We cater to a broad spectrum of clients in various industries, mostly across the Mid-Atlantic region.

Our team, now encompassing around 95 dedicated professionals across our two locations, upholds our foundational values of dedication to customer service, timeliness, and precision.

We value our employees as much as our clients, fostering a family-oriented atmosphere. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance and a 401k plan, underscoring our commitment to the well-being and development of our staff.

Headquartered in Raleigh, NC, we continue to set benchmarks in our industry, driven by a legacy of excellence.

Position Description:

The IT Operations \& Security Compliance Coordinator has a key role, reporting directly to senior management, and will serve as the primary bridge between our internal team and our external IT Managed Service Provider (MSP). This role is part technical liaison and part controller of internal security habits. You will ensure our IT systems are reliable while leading the administrative effort to maintain our cybersecurity posture and compliance with industry frameworks (e.g., NIST, CMMC). The role is hybrid-remote work with some days spent working remotely away from the office.

Responsibilities:

· MSP Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact for our outsourced IT firm. You may submit tickets, follow up on pending issues, and ensure they meet their Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

· Internal Support: Act as the first line of defense for staff tech questions. You’ll resolve simple issues and escalate complex problems to the MSP to keep costs and response times down.

· Onboarding \& Offboarding: Manage the technical side of employee transitions, including setting up workstations, assigning hardware, managing some software seat licenses and transferring users to new mobile devices.

· Asset Management: Maintain an accurate inventory of company hardware (laptops, monitors, mobile devices and peripherals) and may track renewal dates for software and domains.

· Process Improvement: Identify gaps in our current tech workflow and work with leadership to implement smarter, more efficient digital tools.

· Cybersecurity Compliance: Assist leadership in maintaining cybersecurity frameworks. You will lead the "paperwork" side of security—documenting policies, performing internal access audits, and ensuring our MSP provides the logs and reports needed for compliance.

· Incident Response Coordination: In the event of a security alert, you will be the internal point person, coordinating communication between the MSP and company leadership to ensure our Incident Response Plan is followed.

· Staff Security Training: Coordinate regular security awareness training (e.g., phishing simulations) for the team to ensure a "security-first" culture.

· Must be willing to travel occasionally to our second facility in Lynchburg, VA.

Qualifications:

· The "Translator" Ability: Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to explain technical security requirements to non-technical staff and business requirements to technical engineers.

· Security Compliance Literacy: Must be willing to become familiar with required cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, CMMC). You don’t need to be an auditor, but you should develop an understanding of the logic of security controls.

· Detail Oriented: You enjoy organization and documentation. You understand that in compliance, if it isn't documented, it didn't happen.

· IT Generalist Knowledge: Basic understanding of networking, cloud apps (Office 365), and cybersecurity.

· Experience: 2–4 years in IT operations, project coordination, or a compliance-related role.

Why You’ll Love This Role

This is a high-impact position where you will protect the company’s reputation and data. You get the best of both worlds: staying hands-on with modern technology while developing highly sought-after skills in the growing field of cybersecurity governance.

Benefits:

  • 401(k)
  • 401(k) matching
  • Dental insurance
  • Life insurance
  • Paid time off
  • Retirement plan
  • Vision insurance
