The opportunity

A rare green field opportunity at a global law firm: build and lead a Transactions (mainly, but not exclusively Real Estate) Deals Due Diligence practice from the ground up, with a clear, sponsored route to partnership.

You'll own the design and delivery of tax due diligence and structuring on real estate transactions, working alongside market-leading corporate and real estate teams with an established deal flow and a warm internal client base from day one. Beyond supporting the firm's transactions, you'll have full backing to win and build your own external client work.

The firm has this service offering elsewhere and it is highly successful; clients have been demanding support in the UK and there are projects where this revenue is currently left to others.

What you'll do

You will build and run the tax due diligence function to support deal teams. You'll support deal teams and their clients on acquisitions, disposals, restructurings, and fund transactions across a variety of sectors, while developing your own practice and client relationships outside the firm's existing deal flow. You'll be expected to embed AI tools and technology-led processes into the practice from the outset, this is a chance to build a modern deals tax offering without legacy constraints and to shape hiring and strategy as the practice grows.

Who we're looking for

You're an experienced Deals Tax / Transactions Tax specialist a director in either a Big 4 firm law firm, or boutique with deep expertise in tax due diligence (asset and share deals, funds, REITs, cross-border structures for corporates). You have a strong record of business development or clear ambition and credibility to win work, and a well-formed view on AI tools and how they reshape deals tax delivery. Most importantly, you're motivated by building something, not inheriting it and you're serious about partnership. For the right candidate, the partnership process can begin as part of the move.
