Director, Engineering

DSJ Global has partnered with a leading food manufacturer to find a hands-on engineering leader capable of advancing maintenance reliability, automation capabilities, and robotics integration within a production environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead engineering and maintenance strategy aligned to growth, cost, and performance goals; drive standardization and continuous improvement across site
• Build and enhance preventive/predictive maintenance program
• Improve uptime, OEE, and asset lifecycle performance
• Partner with Operations to reduce downtime and strengthen reliability
• Lead implementation of robotics and automation across processing and packaging
• Drive initiatives in robotic palletizing, vision systems, and automated material handling
• Support integration of PLCs, controls, and IIoT technologies
• Own a 3-year CAPEX roadmap focused on automation and infrastructure
• Lead full lifecycle project execution from concept through commissioning
• Manage vendors, equipment selection, and ROI-driven business cases
• Build and develop a high-performing engineering and maintenance team; coach on reliability, automation, and problem-solving

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
• 10\+ years in manufacturing engineering, maintenance, or automation
• Strong background in reliability, maintenance systems, and capital projects
• Experience with automation, robotics, PLCs, and controls systems

Preferred:

• Food/CPG manufacturing experience
• Experience with robotics integration, CMMS, SAP, or AutoCAD
