Main Responsibilities

The Senior Manager of Marketing Science at Albertsons Media Collective is a strategic, client-facing leader responsible for driving measurable business impact for a defined book of advertiser accounts. This role leads a team of Marketing Science Analysts who provide audience strategy, test design, campaign analytics, and measurement insights across retail media activations.

You will partner closely with Sales, Client Success, Product, and Data Science teams to ensure clients leverage Albertsons’ first‑party data, audience solutions, and closed‑loop measurement capabilities to drive full‑funnel performance and brand growth.

In this role, you will lead a team responsible for delivering audience strategies, test designs, and performance insights across a defined book of advertiser accounts. You’ll serve as the primary Audience Insights and Measurement expert for your clients—developing data‑driven audience recommendations, shaping measurement plans, and translating results into clear, compelling narratives that influence decision-making. You’ll also support a wide range of client types, including non‑endemic and pharma advertisers, and collaborate closely with agency partners that steward these accounts. This role also requires familiarity with 3P data and activation solutions such as LiveRamp and The Trade Desk, ensuring advertisers can activate and measure campaigns effectively across both onsite and offsite ecosystems.You’ll guide the team in executing high‑quality analyses, collaborating closely with Sales, Client Success, Product, and Data Science to enhance audience capabilities, improve measurement frameworks, and drive measurable impact for advertisers.

The position will be based in Boise, Idaho, or one of our main regional offices (Pleasanton CA, Chicago, IL, or New York, NY).

  • Business Ownership \& Client Strategy

+ Own a portfolio of strategic advertiser accounts, serving as the primary Marketing Science partner for audience strategy and measurement.

+ Develop data‑driven audience recommendations using Albertsons’ first‑party data, shopper insights, and platform capabilities.

+ Translate client objectives into actionable measurement plans, including test design, KPIs, incrementality frameworks, and attribution considerations.

+ Present insights and recommendations to senior client stakeholders, distilling complex analytics into simple narratives that influence decisions.

+ Partner cross‑functionally with Sales and Client Success to craft go‑to‑market narratives, pitch responses, and optimization strategies that grow client investment.

  • Team Leadership

+ Manage, mentor, and develop a team of Marketing Science Analysts—fostering strong analytical thinking, storytelling, and client communication skills.

+ Establish team processes, best practices, documentation standards, and high-quality delivery benchmarks.

+ Prioritize workload and allocate resources across your book of business to meet deadlines and ensure excellence in execution.

  • Measurement \& Analytics

+ Oversee the creation of audience strategies, pre‑campaign planning insights, and measurement approaches that align with client goals.

+ Guide the team in analyzing campaign performance using retail media reporting, incrementality tests, MMM/MTA signals, and onsite/offsite performance metrics.

+ Lead the development of post‑campaign readouts, ROI analyses, and strategic recommendations to improve future performance.

+ Work with internal Data Science and Product teams to enhance measurement methodologies, build new analytics tools, and surface actionable shopper insights.

+ Cross‑Functional Collaboration

+ Collaborate with Product and Data Engineering teams to improve data availability, reporting pipelines, and analytics tooling.

+ Partner with Sales and Client Success to develop new audience packages, performance benchmarks, and measurement narratives for prospective clients.

+ Represent Marketing Science in internal roadmap discussions, providing feedback on capabilities needed to improve client outcomes.

  • Stakeholder management: set expectations, negotiate tradeoffs, and manage timelines across multiple concurrent workstreams.
  • Resilience \& adaptability: operate effectively in a high‑growth environment with evolving tools, signals, and privacy constraints.
  • Experimentation and Measurement Methodology expertise - Design KPI frameworks, incrementality tests, holdouts, pre/post, and matched‑market designs; interpret MMM/MTA signals.
  • Operational rigor - Standardize templates, QA processes, documentation, and post‑campaign readout frameworks.

We believe the successful candidate has these qualifications and experience:

  • 8 plus years of experience in analytics, marketing science, data strategy, retail media, digital media, or consulting.
  • 3 plus years leading high‑performing analytics or media measurement teams.
  • Strong understanding of retail media, audience targeting, incrementality testing, and closed‑loop measurement.
  • Familiarity with 3P audience and activation platforms such as LiveRamp, The Trade Desk, or other programmatic environments.
  • Comfortable owning executive‑level client relationships and presenting complex insights in simple, compelling terms.
  • Experience with SQL, data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker), and/or marketing analytics platforms preferred.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, evolving environment while balancing multiple priorities.
