Job Description

This is a newly created, high-impact role offering the opportunity to build and scale a best-in-class finance infrastructure within a dynamic and expanding platform.

As a key member of the finance leadership team, the Financial Controller will take ownership of all corporate accounting matters, drive the development of robust financial controls and reporting, and lead the implementation of systems and processes to support the firm’s continued growth.

The role will partner closely with the CFO and senior stakeholders, providing insight and leadership across the business.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership \& Ownership of Corporate Accounting

  • Take full ownership of the corporate accounting function, ensuring best-in-class processes, controls, and governance
  • Lead the delivery of accurate and timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
  • Establish, enhance, and maintain a strong internal control environment and accounting policy framework

Financial Reporting \& Governance

  • Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards
  • Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors, managing the audit process end-to-end
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory, statutory, and tax requirements

Systems, Infrastructure \& Process Transformation

  • Lead the design and implementation of scalable accounting systems and financial infrastructure
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including automation and optimisation of key processes
  • Develop high-quality, data-driven reporting and dashboards to enhance decision-making

Strategic Business Partnering

  • Partner closely with the CFO and senior leadership team to provide financial insight and support strategic initiatives
  • Play a key role in budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning
  • Provide commercial analysis and challenge to support business performance and growth

Team Leadership \& Development

  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing finance team over time
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and excellence within the function

Candidate Profile

  • Qualified accountant with approximately 5–8 years post-qualified experience, ideally within an investment firm or a similar financial services environment.
  • Demonstrated experience operating in a leadership capacity within a finance function, with ownership of core accounting processes
  • Strong technical accounting expertise, combined with a commercial and strategic mindset
  • Proven track record in driving systems implementations and process transformation
  • Highly analytical and data-driven, with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights
  • Confident communicator with the ability to influence and partner effectively with senior stakeholders
  • Hands-on, proactive, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment
