Electrical Design Engineer
Position Summary
EEE is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to support the design, development, and implementation of low voltage power distribution and transfer systems. This role is responsible for developing electrical designs, schematics, and engineered solutions for telecommunications, industrial, utility, and backup power applications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Engineering \& Design
· Design electrical systems for switchboards, transfer switches, integrated load centers, and custom power distribution equipment.
· Develop one-line diagrams, control schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts.
· Create bills of material and technical documentation for manufacturing and customer approval.
· Ensure designs comply with UL, NEC, customer specifications, and applicable industry standards.
· Support custom product development and engineered-to-order solutions.
· Coordinate with mechanical engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure design manufacturability.
Project Support
· Support projects from concept through production and commissioning.
· Participate in design reviews and customer meetings.
· Provide technical support to production, quality, and field service teams.
· Troubleshoot electrical and system-related issues during production and startup.
· Assist with engineering changes and continuous improvement initiatives.
Quality \& Compliance
· Verify designs meet UL and NEC requirements.
· Support testing and validation of completed equipment.
· Maintain accurate engineering documentation and revision control.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
· 4 – 7 years of experience in electrical power systems, controls, or switchgear design preferred.
· Experience with AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar design software.
· Knowledge of UL508A, UL891, NEC, and low-voltage power distribution systems preferred.
· Proficient in 1 Line, 3 Line, Schematic and Wiring Diagrams
· Strong understanding of transfer switches, generators, breakers, and electrical protection systems.
· Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Salary Range: $95,000 to $115,000 DOE
