Due to nuclear site access and export-controlled project requirements, this role requires candidates to be willing to work on W2\.
Position Summary
We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to provide Design Liaison Engineering (DLE) support for manufacturing operations, with a primary focus on rotor and unit assembly. This role partners closely with manufacturing and engineering teams to resolve production issues, improve product quality, and support continuous process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Review, evaluate, and develop engineering solutions for manufacturing issues.
- Perform engineering analysis using hand calculations, CAD models, Finite Element Analysis (FEA), and other engineering evaluation tools.
- Support Design Liaison Engineering (DLE) initiatives focused on reducing manufacturing defects and improving engineering definitions and production processes.
- Revise engineering drawings, specifications, and related technical documentation as needed.
- Conduct technical reviews to determine appropriate rework methods and establish acceptance criteria for nonconforming hardware.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure timely issue resolution.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Proficiency with CAD software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Familiarity with engineering principles, manufacturing processes, and industry standards.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
